Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. is your local income tax and accounting firm. We are family owned and operated, and have been serving the Chisago Lakes and surrounding communities since 1970.
What sets us apart from other tax professionals in the industry?
We are not just tax preparers, we are also tax planners that want to help you in the short-term and long-term when it comes to mimizing your tax burden by looking at your whole picture. Our motto has always been “Guiding you in the right direction.”
When we see opportunities, we try to focus on long-term tax goals for our tax clients and not just the short-term or current year goals. What most people don’t realize is a short-term tax savings can actually have adverse consequences in the future, resulting in you paying more taxes in the future than what was initially saved. By being a forward thinking organization we can help you develop a tax plan based on your income needs that will help maximize your tax savings currently, but also long-term for retirement (whether it’s next year or thirty years from now).
We want to make sure that you are optimizing your tax savings based on your income goals that you have setup personally or with the assistance of your financial advisor, no matter if you are just entering the workforce, in the prime of your career, getting close retirement, in retirement, or come across an inheritance.
New Clients/Hours/Deadlines/Drop Off Procedures
The tax preparation industry is encountering a shortage of tax professionals as the number of tax professionals retiring continues to outpace the number of new tax professionals entering this profession. As a result, it is hard to find a new preparer that will fit your needs. The most common reason people are looking for a new tax professional is their tax professional retiring or unexpectedly passing away. Our firm will be here to serve our clients for several years to come so you can feel confident that you can build a long term relationship with one of our tax professionals at our office.
While we do accept new bookkeeping and payroll clients all year, once tax season has started we do accept new income tax preparation clients, on a very limited basis, that are looking to build a long term relationship with our tax professionals. If you contact our office, and we have stopped taking new clients for the season (usually sometime from middle to later part of March) we encourage you to come see us between May and December so we can review your prior year return and get you preloaded into our system for the next season.
New and existing clients should review and complete our organizer that was mailed to you, or that you can download from the Forms link on our website, in advance of bringing us your tax information. Completing this will help expedite the processing of your tax return and to reduce the length of your in-person appointment.
Our hours for tax season are as follows from February 1 – April 15:
- Monday Through Thursday – 9:00 – 8:00
- Friday – 9:00 – 4:00
- Saturday – 9:00 – 1:00 (February 10- April 15)
Our offseason hours from April 16th – January 31st are Tuesday – Thursday from 9:00 – 4:00.
Unless prior arrangements have been made with your tax professional, all tax information must be received by March 31, 2024. While dropping your return information off prior to this date doesn’t guarantee that an extension will not need to be filed, returns received after this date will have an extension filed automatically and we will contact you when the taxes are completed, whether it is before or after the filing deadline. If an extension will be filed you are responsible for estimating the amount of the extension payment you should send in if you feel that you will owe taxes.
Our goal this tax season is to complete your return within 7 – 10 business days of receiving all your tax information, but as we approach the end of tax season these times may become longer. We will not be completing returns in our office during your appointment. Additionally, we generally try to limit your drop off appointments to no more than 30 minutes and your pick up appointments to no more than 15.
You can also drop your taxes off at the front desk or upload to our Client Portal if you do not need to meet with your tax professional. Emailing of your tax information to your tax professional is not recommended if it has confidential information on it.
If you are showing any signs of any illness please reschedule your appointment or make other arrangements to get your information to us. Our tax season is short and having a healthy staff is important to us all!
